The Restock Question – The Deliberate Decision Behind Restocks: When We Bring Things Back, When We Don’t, and What It Takes for a Colorway to Earn a Restock
The Most Requested Thing We Don’t Always Do.
“When is the black Classic T-Shirt coming back?”
“Please restock the charcoal Terry Oversized Tee.”
“I missed the drop – will you bring it back?”
We get these messages every week. And we understand the frustration – you found something you wanted, it sold out before you could buy it, and now it’s gone.
But restocking isn’t as simple as “people want it, so we make more.” There’s a decision framework behind every restock – and a set of reasons why we don’t restock everything, even when demand is clear.
This is the full explanation.
🔥 Tonight’s Drop – 9 PM IST: The Restock Drop – two colorways that earned their way back. 20 pieces per colorway. Save this page.
Why We Don’t Restock Everything
Reason 1: Restocking means not dropping something new
Every production run we do is a choice. We can use that run to restock a colorway of the Oversized Classic T-Shirt that sold out, or we can use it to drop something new. We can’t do both at the same time – our production capacity is limited, and every run takes time, fabric, and attention.
When we restock a colorway, we’re choosing to go back instead of forward. That’s sometimes the right choice. But it’s never the default. The default is forward – new colorways, new products, new ideas. Restocking is the exception, not the rule.
Reason 2: Color accuracy is harder than it looks
Hitting the exact same color in a new production run is genuinely difficult. Fabric dye lots vary. The same Pantone number can look different across different fabric batches, different dye suppliers, and different production conditions.
If we restock a colorway of the Ringer T-Shirt or the Terry Oversized Tee and the new run is even slightly off – warmer, cooler, more saturated, less saturated – we’ve created a problem. Customers who bought the original run have a different product from customers who bought the restock. That’s not acceptable.
We only restock colorways where we’re confident we can hit the same color accuracy. If we can’t guarantee that, we don’t restock.
Reason 3: Scarcity is a feature, not a bug
We’ve written about this in Drop Diaries #1. Limited drops create a different kind of customer relationship – one where customers move when they see something they want, rather than waiting for a sale or a restock.
If we restocked every colorway of the Classic T-Shirt that sold out, we’d train our customers to wait. “It sold out, but it’ll come back.” That’s the opposite of what we want. We want customers who buy when they see something they want – because they know it might not come back.
Restocking selectively – only when the criteria are met – maintains the integrity of the limited drop model.
Reason 4: Some colorways are meant to be one-time
Not every colorway is designed to be permanent. Some are seasonal – designed for a specific time of year, a specific mood, a specific moment. Restocking a seasonal colorway out of season doesn’t make sense – the product is right for a specific context, and that context has passed.
When We Do Restock – The 4 Criteria
We restock a colorway when it meets all four of these criteria:
Criterion 1: Demand is sustained, not just immediate. A colorway of the Oversized Classic T-Shirt that sells out in 4 hours has strong immediate demand. But does that demand persist? Are customers still asking for it 4 weeks later? 8 weeks later? Sustained demand – not just sell-out speed – is what justifies a restock.
Criterion 2: The colorway fits our current direction. A colorway that was right 6 months ago may not be right now. Our aesthetic evolves. A restock has to fit where we are now, not just where we were when the original drop happened.
Criterion 3: We can hit the same color accuracy. If we can’t guarantee the same color in the new run – whether it’s on the Classic T-Shirt, the Oversized Raglan, or the Ringer T-Shirt – we don’t restock.
Criterion 4: The restock doesn’t displace a new drop. If restocking a colorway means we can’t drop something new in the same window, we evaluate which is more valuable. Usually, the new drop wins. But if the restock demand is strong enough and the new drop can wait, we’ll restock.
How to Request a Restock
We track restock requests. Every DM, every comment, every email asking for a specific colorway to come back is logged. When we’re evaluating whether to restock, the volume of requests is one of the data points we use.
How to request a restock:
- DM us on Instagram (@euphorbliss) with the colorway name and product – e.g. “Charcoal Classic T-Shirt”
- Comment on our posts asking for the restock
- Email us at the address on our contact page
We can’t promise that every request will result in a restock. But requests are real data, and real data influences decisions.
Tonight’s Restock Drop – What Earned Its Way Back
Tonight’s drop is two colorways that met all four criteria. Sustained demand (customers have been asking for months). Fits our current direction. Color accuracy confirmed in a test swatch run. And the restock doesn’t displace a new drop – we have new colorways ready for the next drop window.
20 pieces per colorway. 9 PM IST. euphorbliss.in.
If you’ve been waiting for these – this is your window. We can’t promise they’ll come back again.
Frequently Asked Questions – Restocks
Q: Will you restock [specific colorway]?
A: Maybe. DM us on Instagram (@euphorbliss) with the colorway name and product. We track requests and they influence our restock decisions.
Q: Why don’t you just restock everything that sells out?
A: Because restocking means not dropping something new. Because color accuracy across production runs is genuinely difficult. Because scarcity is a feature of the limited drop model. And because some colorways are meant to be one-time.
Q: How long does a restock take?
A: From decision to drop: typically 6–10 weeks – the same timeline as a new colorway. We need to confirm color accuracy in a test swatch run before committing to a full production run.
Q: How do I know when a restock is happening?
A: Follow @euphorbliss on Instagram and turn on post notifications. Restock drops are announced the same way as new drops – 24–48 hours in advance, live at 9 PM IST.
Q: Is a restock the same quality as the original?
A: Yes – or we don’t do it. We only restock when we can confirm the same color accuracy and the same GSM on the Classic T-Shirt, Terry Tee, or whichever product is being restocked.
Q: Where can I buy tonight’s restock?
A: The Restock Drop goes live at 9 PM IST tonight at euphorbliss.in. 20 pieces per colorway.
